Present Perfect Progressive vs Present Perfect Simple

• when we want to focus attention on the activity or action rather than its result
  I’ve been preparing the presentation. (The focus is on the preparation.)
  I’ve prepared the presentation. (We can now start.)
• when we talk about repeated actions
  They’ve been trying out the new products.
  We’ve been visiting our overseas offices.
• when we want to indicate a temporary state of affairs
  She’s been working in Moscow. (But her usual base is in London.)
• when we want to suggest that the activity may continue in the future
  He’s been reading the newspaper. (He hasn’t finished yet.)
  He’s read the newspaper. (He has finished reading.)
